Today I’m previewing tracks from The National‘s new record, High Violet, which comes out this Tuesday. The National need no introduction, of course, and after the success of Boxer in 2007, the expectations for this album are about as high as they can possibly be. The National’s unique intensity in something they evidently haven’t lost in anyway judging by these 2 songs. You can preview High Violet in full here, or in case you’re one of the ones who can’t possibly wait another few days, here you go:

MP3: Afraid Of Everyone

MP3: Bloodbuzz Ohio

Not to be outdone, I’m also highlighting tracks from Montreal, Quebec’s very own Wolf Parade. After their semi disappointing follow-up, At Mount Zoomer, I have to say that I’m more than a little skeptical of how this record is actually going to turn out. Then again, I suppose following up near-perfection can have its drawbacks. Expo 86, doesn’t drop until June 29th, so these will have to due until then. Enjoy.

MP3: What Did My Lover Say?(It Always Had To Go This Way)

MP3: Ghost Pressure
